How are the federal government and private antitrust lawyers working to protect consumers and businesses in the fields of advertising and marketing? In this report from the ABA Antitrust Section Spring Meeting 2018, Matt Joseph interviews Christie Grymes Thompson from Kelley Drye’s Advertising, Marketing, and Consumer Product Safety practice groups and Lesley Fair, senior attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection, about what’s new and interesting in the world of consumer protection law. Thompson and Fair each discuss how they got into the area, offer their tips for other lawyers looking to be successful in consumer protection law, and how the ABA Antitrust Section has brought together FTC lawyers and the attorneys representing businesses to benefit their clients and America’s consumers.
