Matthew Joseph

Matthew E. Joseph is an antitrust and litigation associate resident in Fried Frank’s Washington, DC office. Mr. Joseph’s antitrust and competition practice focuses on antitrust investigations and matters relating to the clearance of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity transactions. His practice also includes counseling and training on antitrust compliance matters. Mr. Joseph has experience representing clients in matters involving a wide variety of industries, including media, consumer products, food, aerospace, information technology, and education. In addition to his antitrust and competition practice, Mr. Joseph has experience in white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and general civil litigation. His litigation practice focuses on all aspects of corporate litigation, including white collar criminal investigations, securities matters, regulatory inquiries, complex commercial disputes, False Claims Act litigation, and post-judgment enforcement. Mr. Joseph also has an active pro bono practice. He has represented clients in Maryland criminal appeals and has argued before Maryland’s highest court.  His pro bono experience also extends to immigration matters, including U-Visa applications. Mr. Joseph is a member of Fried Frank’s Firmwide Diversity Committee. Prior to joining Fried Frank, Mr. Joseph was a student attorney at the George Washington University Law School Federal Appellate Criminal legal clinic, a law clerk at both the Public Defenders Service of Washington, DC and the Children’s Law Center, and a paralegal at the US Department of Justice.
