Host of Confessions of a Divorce Assassin

For more than two decades, David Crum has lived inside the world of divorce. As the founder and CEO of US Legal Group—the parent company of Colorado Legal Group, Kansas Legal Group, Nebraska Legal Group, and New Mexico Legal Group—he has helped build one of the nation’s leading family law organizations, representing thousands of clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

David’s path wasn’t conventional. After graduating from George Washington University Law School, while many of his classmates pursued careers with large Washington, D.C. law firms or entered government service, David packed up and moved to New Mexico, where he founded his first law firm at just 26 years old. That entrepreneurial leap became the foundation for a career built on challenging conventional wisdom and finding better ways to serve clients.

In 2016, David published Confessions of a Divorce Assassin: What You Really Need to Know About Your Case, Your Kids, and Your Attorney. The book grew out of a simple realization: clients kept asking the same questions, and too many were making costly decisions because they didn’t understand how divorce cases actually work. Rather than offering legal theory, David focused on practical guidance, courtroom realities, and the strategies that truly make a difference.

That same philosophy drives this podcast.

Each episode pulls back the curtain on divorce, family law, negotiation, and human behavior. David shares stories from the courtroom, lessons learned from decades of litigation, conversations with experts, and the insights he wishes every client knew before making life-changing decisions. His goal isn’t to create more conflict—it’s to help people make smarter decisions, protect what matters most, and move through divorce with greater clarity and confidence.
