Michael Bergman is a partner in the firm of Bergman & Song LLP. He practices intellectual property law with a focus on patent and trademark prosecution, licensing, and related transactional matters. Mr. Bergman is experienced in the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent and trademark applications. His practice includes the development of legal opinions related to intellectual property rights acquisition and enforcement. Mr. Bergman has secured proprietary rights in a wide variety of electrical and electronic devices (including a range of memory and photonic integrated circuits), control systems, computer software, powder metallurgy processes and equipment, synthetic coatings and fibers, chemical analysis equipment and various mechanical systems. Mr. Bergman is actively committed to the advancement of the legal profession. He is the 2005-2006 Chair of the American Bar Association TIPS Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee. In 2005, Mr. Bergman co-chaired an ABA national CLE program in Chicago, Illinois entitled: Insurance and IP Litigation. He was previously a member of the AIPLA China Study Group (now the IP Practice in the Far East Committee), and joined several delegations of that group to China. He remains an active member of the AIPLA. In addition, he is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Boston Patent Law Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
