Amy is the Attorney and Compliance Officer for Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this role, she is tasked with ensuring that the organization complies with federal grants and lending regulations so that the organization can effectively build home ownership opportunities and repair existing homes for low to moderate income individuals. She utilizes free and low-cost resources to help her accomplish her goals.
Prior to coming Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, Amy worked as the Assistant Director for Career Development at Michigan State University College of Law. She worked with students in its LegalRnD program and audited the courses and programs offered through that. Her proudest accomplishment in this role, was encouraging students to ethically leverage blogs and social media to help them network with other legal professionals and show their skill and knowledge with potential employers.
Before taking on nontraditional roles, Amy worked at a small firm in a small town in Michigan in real estate transactions and litigation, estate planning, probate, civil litigation, and even some family law. Before that she was at a medium-sized insurance defense firm in Las Vegas which she took on after she was a Summer Associate at the firm and graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego.
