Michael Burton is the presiding circuit judge for St. Louis County. Before joining the bench, he was a criminal defense attorney serving as a public defender and trial attorney with Margulis, Grant, Burton & Margulis. He also served as a guardian ad litem for the St. Louis County Family Court.
Judge Burton teaches as an adjunct professor in the St. Louis University School of Law Trial Practice program and the court’s Trial Practice program.
He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
