Barbara McQuade

Barbara McQuade is a professor at the University of Michigan Law School, where she teaches courses in criminal law, criminal procedure data privacy and national security and civil liberties. She is also a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. She served as the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2010 to 2017. Appointed by former President Barack Obama, she was the first woman to serve in her position. McQuade also served as co-chair of the Terrorism and National Security Subcommittee of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee in the Obama administration.
