Matthew Guariglia is a historian and activist focusing on police and technology. His writing can be seen in NBC News, Slate, Time Magazine, and the Washington Post and he is the co-editor of The Essential Kerner Commission Report. He holds academic affiliations with University of Indiana-Indianapolis and Emory University and is currently a senior policy analyst at the civil liberties organization the Electronic Frontier Foundation where he focuses on how police departments use technology.
