On May 13, Above the Law founder and managing editor David Lat gave a presentation for the Colorado Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society in Denver, Colorado. In the presentation, called “Above the Law, Underneath Their Robes, and Everything In Between: David Lat’s Supreme Ambitions”, Lat discussed his path through careers as a law clerk, lawyer, and legal blog founder and editor.
Legal Talk Network producer Laurence Colletti interviewed Lat about his new book, Supreme Ambitions, before the presentation. Lat shared how his own career shaped the characters in the book and to what degree political views, race, gender, and sexual preferences factor into relationships between law clerks and judges in real life. Additionally, Colletti and Lat examined the importance of friendship and family and the psyche of young lawyers who often compromise personal relationships for career ambitions. Tune in for the author’s inside perspective.
