Best known for his acclaimed tribute to Buddy Holly, Vancouver Island native, Zachary Stevenson, channels the spirit and sounds of the past in dynamic performance that is uniquely his own. Zachary is active as a music director (Million Dollar Quartet, Ring of Fire) and actor (Urinetown, Assassins, Hair, Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave, FIRE). He’s been nominated for “Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role” for the Jessie Richardson Awards, Ovation Awards and BroadwayWorld for his performance as Buddy in 11 productions of the Buddy Holly Story across Canada and the United States.
As an original artist, he’s been featured at the Ottawa Folk Fest, Blue Skies Festival, Summerfolk, Winterfolk (Toronto), Folk Alliance (Memphis), North East Regional Folk Alliance (New York) and the Ottawa Blues Festival sharing stages with the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Harmer, Danny Michel, the Good Lovelies and KISS. He shares a Toronto Virgin Radio songwriting award with songwriting partner, Jeff Bryant, for their song “The Man on Radio”. Zachary has proudly raised over $10,000 for MSF (Doctors Without Borders) through CD sales.
