Steven Birnbaum

Steven Birnbaum attended New York University and and studied law at New College of California School of Law in San Francisco.  In 1983 he began his private practice, specializing in worker’s compensation under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the California Labor Code. Mr. Birnbaum is a State Bar of California certified specialist in workers’ compensation. Currently, he serves as a board member of the ATLA Workplace Injury Litigation Group and as the chairman of the ATLA Workers’ Compensation Section. He is also the chairman and a co-founder of the San Francisco Maritime Claimant’s Bar, and a member of the Applicant’s Attorney Association. He frequently lectures for the Industrial Claims Association, the Longshore Claims Association, Loyola University (New Orleans), the ATLA National College of Advocacy, and the Northwest Longshore Administrators Association.
