Shawn Cheadle

Shawn Cheadle, Esq., serves in a dual role as General Counsel to Military Space, a Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company business unit, and as Associate General Counsel to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. He advises executive management on matters involving government contracts and subcontracts in major space and ground systems. As AGC to Space Systems, Cheadle is a leader in the corporate-wide e-Discovery & Privacy Working Group, and he counsels Space Systems on e-Discovery and records management; company policies; and central organizations such as Procurement, Mission Success or IT; and general legal matters to the LM Colorado campuses. Formerly, Cheadle served two other aerospace and defense suppliers for over 10 years as General Counsel, Secretary and Regional Vice President. In April 2013, Cheadle was honored by the Denver Business Journal with its 2013 Best Corporate Counsel award. Also in April 2013, he received the Lockheed Martin Team Excellences Award for a successful request for equitable adjustment on the GPS III satellite program. In October 2010, he received the Lockheed Martin General Counsel’s Award for Excellence. ACC elected Cheadle to its national Board of Directors, and he is Past Chair of the ACC Law Department Management Committee. He served as a Director for 9 years with ACC Colorado, including President in 2007. Cheadle also serves on the Dean’s Diversity Council in Colorado, and he supports the Center for Legal Inclusiveness on several inclusive and diversity projects. He received his JD from the University of Denver, College of Law, and his BA in English from San Jose State University. Cheadle lives in Colorado with his wife, Lora, and their two boys. He can be found on some Disney property or cruise at any given moment, fly fishing the Rocky Mountains and world.
