Senator Lindsey Graham has served the United States Senate since 2003. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1977, received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1981, and served in the United States Air Force from 1982 to 1988. He then continued his military service through the South Carolina Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves, eventually attaining the rank of colonel. Senator Graham’s political career began after he worked as a lawyer in private practice when he was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1992. Following that, he served in the United States House of Representatives, representing South Carolina’s 3rd congressional district from 1995 to 2003.
