Richard Field advises on international and domestic law and policy, with a focus on technology, electronic commerce and payment systems. He has been active in the area of legal harmonization and cross-border interoperability of cyber law, as a member of the U.S. Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law, on the U.S. delegation for the drafting of the United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts, as an expert adviser to the UNCITRAL Secretariat on technology law matters, chair of the American Bar Association Section of Science & Technology Law and an ABA Representative to the UN, liaison to the U.S. Uniform Law Commission, and member of the American Law Institute. He also serves on the Board of Editors of the ABA Journal. Richard has been an Adjunct Professor of Electonic Finance at the Columbia University School of Business.
