Rachel E. VanLandingham, Lt Col. (ret.) is Co-Associate Dean of Research & Irwin R. Buchalter Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School. Rachel is a national security law expert and former active duty judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force (USAF). She was appointed to the Southwestern Law School full-time faculty in Fall 2014 and awarded tenure as a full professor in 2018. As both a scholar and president of the leading national non-profit dedicated to improving the military criminal justice system, Professor VanLandingham was instrumental in helping 2021’s passage of the most significant military justice legislative reform since the 1950s.
