Mike Scodro

Michael A. Scodro, a partner at Mayer Brown in Chicago, specializes in Supreme Court & Appellate practice. Formerly the Illinois Solicitor General, he led the civil and criminal appeals divisions, supervising over 40 attorneys. With a strong record as a litigator, Michael argued numerous cases before the US Supreme Court and state appellate courts. He has clerked for US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and the Honorable Jose Cabranes of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. An active member of the legal community, Michael teaches at the University of Chicago Law School and is part of prestigious organizations like the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Recognized for his expertise, Michael has written articles and speaks extensively on appellate advocacy and the US Supreme Court, receiving the Supreme Court Best Brief Award from the National Association of Attorneys General six times.
