Michael Hawes is a Partner at Baker Botts LLP in Houston where he assists companies seeking to resolve technology disputes, especially concerning software and computer networking. He handles negotiations and cases dealing with patent and copyright infringement, antitrust violations, trade secret misappropriation and violation of the intellectual property provisions of employment agreements.
Hawes is currently the Chair of the American Bar Association Science and Technology Law Section. He has previously served as Co-Chair of the E-Commerce and IT Division, Vice Chair of the Book Publishing Board, and a member of the Membership Committee. Hawes is an American Bar Foundation Fellow.
