Merisa K. Bowers, Esq. is a lawyer, public servant, and advocate for ethical, people-centered leadership. As Loss Prevention & Outreach Prevention Counsel at the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company (“OBLIC”), she helps attorneys across Ohio navigate professional responsibility, risk management, and emerging challenges like AI. In her second term on City Council for the City of Gahanna, she serves as President, is accountable to nearly 36,000 residents, oversees a $107 million budget, and champions transparent, inclusive policymaking. A recognized thought leader and frequent speaker, Merisa has been honored as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and one of the National LGBT Bar Association’s “Top 40 Under 40.” She is known for bringing clarity to complex issues, building trust across diverse communities, and keeping people at the heart of every decision.
