Lee Kovarsky

Lee Kovarsky is the Bryant Smith Chair in Law and the Co-Director of the Capital Punishment Center at the University of Texas School of Law. He a leading scholar of the death penalty and habeas corpus. Professor Kovarsky also represents death-sentenced prisoners awaiting execution,. He argued Ayestsas v. Davis in this Supreme Court, which voted unanimously in his client’s favor. His scholarship has been cited by the United States Supreme Court and seven of the federal circuit courts.
