JP Box is a lawyer-turned-entrepreneur, consultant, and author. After graduating from Georgetown Law, he practiced law for six years in Washington, DC, and Denver, Colorado. He left the practice of law to co-found and run a merino wool children’s apparel company called Chasing Windmills.
As time passed, however, JP returned to critical questions that disappointed partners had asked him when he left their law firms: “Why are you leaving? What could we have done differently?” JP realized that the tensions he felt while practicing law could be traced, in significant part, to generational misunderstandings and miscommunications. This realization led JP to begin a consulting practice focused on helping law firms understand the millennial mindset to unlock the talents and passion of a new generation of attorneys.
JP is the author of the book, “The Millennial Lawyer: How Your Firm Can Motivate and Retain Young Associates,” published by the American Bar Association in 2018. He has also written about millennials in the law for numerous publications, including Law Practice Today, Law Technology Today, The Georgetown Law Magazine, and The Colorado Lawyer.
In addition to his work directly with lawyers and their firms, JP has been a featured speaker at bar association events, ABA conferences, and Am Law 100 gatherings. He also serves as the Chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Modern Law Practice Initiative.
JP lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife (Sarah) and their two children. For more information, please visit www.jpboxjr.com.
