Jonathan M. Dunitz is Counsel at Verrill’s Portland, Maine office, where his practice includes energy, utilities, and telecommunications; food and beverage law; insurance coverage; accountant professional liability defense; appeals; and mediation. Jonathan is the Immediate Past President of the Maine State Bar Association (MSBA) and Co-Chairs the Maine Attorney Well-Being Task Force.
Jonathan is Vice President of the New England Bar Association’s (NEBA) Board of Directors, a member of National Conference of Bar Presidents (NCBP) Executive Council, Vice Chair of the NCBP’s Non-Dues Revenue Committee and a member of its Programming Committee, an ex officio member of the Maine Justice Foundation Board of Directors, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Maine Justice Foundation. During his term as President of the MSBA in 2024, Jonathan focused his efforts on addressing attorney well-being and continues those efforts with the MSBA and NCBP.
He has been a panelist for the NCBP, the MSBA, NEBA, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the Institute for Business Appraisers, Marcum, DRI, the Maine Brewers Guild, the Brewers Association, and the Montgomery County (PA) Bar Association. He was formerly a co-editor of The Comprehensive Guide to Economic Damages, published by Business Valuation Resources. He resides in South Portland, Maine with his 3-legged lab mix, Kirby.
