Jonathan Bratten is a historian specializing in U.S. military history, with an emphasis on the U.S. experience in World War I. His publications include To the Last Man: A National Guard Regiment in the Great War, 1917-1919 (2020) and Forging the Framework: Evolving Law, Policy, and Doctrine for the US Military’s Domestic Response (2025), both published by Army University Press. He is a National Guard officer and veteran of Afghanistan.
