Joanne Martin

Guest Joanne Martin is a lawyer, mediator, and legal coach based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, practicing exclusively in the area of family law.

Martin takes an empathetic and resolution-focused approach and prides herself on providing clients with solid advice, options, and solutions. She feels strongly that the majority of family matters are best resolved through out-of-court options, and her practice focuses on reaching agreement through negotiation, mediation, and collaborative solutions.

Martin grew up in Victoria and earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction from Royal Roads University. She enjoyed a successful first career in the film and television industry as a script and continuity supervisor before earning her law degree at the University of British Columbia. After working with a family law firm for four years she established her own firm, Align Family Law.
