Griselda Vega Samuel is a judge for the 14th Subcircuit of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois and a co-chair of this year’s American Bar Association Litigation Section’s annual conference. She assumed office on December 2, 2024. Her current term ends on December 2, 2030. She’s a native of Chicago and a first generation American and the first in her family to graduate from college. Prior to her election as judge, she was a civil rights attorney for more than 20 years and the senior director of the second largest anti-trafficking program in the United States. Vega Samuel earned her bachelor’s degree at Briar Cliff University and her JD at the University of Iowa Law School.
