Dr. George Beaton is a partner in Beaton Capital, an associate professor at the University of Melbourne, and authored NewLaw New Rules, a ground-breaking narrative on the changes sweeping the legal services industry. George has extensive experience advising firms on strategy, governance, capital structure, and mergers, acquisitions and disposals. In 2013 George self-published NewLaw New Rules, an e-book based on his blog post that went viral and was stopped at 80,000 words. In turn, NewLaw New Rules went viral putting him near the centre of the wave of innovation and transformation of legal services. George researches clients’ attitudes towards law firms and legal services innovation. He has co-written Remaking Law Firms: Why and How as a rejoinder. His latest initiative is as a co-founder of FirmChecker.
