Denise Scofield earned her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law. A 31-year lawyer, she is the head of the litigation group in the Houston office of Winston & Strawn and also practices in her firm’s Dallas office. Scofield represents clients on both sides of the docket in complex business disputes and often assists in high-profile crisis situations.
She has served as president of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association, chair of the Houston Bar Foundation and Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, and as a board member of the State Bar of Texas. Currently, Scofield is a board member of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.
She has been consistently recognized by many publications during her career. In 2003, Scofield received the Woodrow B. Seals Outstanding Young Lawyer of Houston Award and the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas Award from the Texas Young Lawyers Association for her service to the profession.
