Darrell West

Darrell M. West is vice president and director of governance studies and holds the Douglas Dillon Chair at the Brookings Institution. His latest research focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, and the future of work. He is co-editor-in-chief of TechTank. His books include “Turning Point: Policymaking in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” “Divided Politics, Divided Nation,” and “The Future of Work: Robots, AI, and Automation.”

Before Brookings, West was the John Hazen White professor of political science and public policy and director of the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University.
