Chuki Obiyo is an executive advisor of sales solutions at Linkedin. He is also an executive board member at Hethrone, whichoffers a variety of services to meet the needs of clients such as Sub-Saharan African Government Agencies, Inter-Governmental Organizations, and Private Corporations. Chuki grew up in a village in Africa where people live on less than $1 a day. His parents worked very hard to send me to America to get a good education. In turn, he worked very hard and became a lawyer at Northwestern University School of Law. During law school, he discovered that the biggest threat to the legal profession is business development– lawyers rely on networking but recoil at selling. After law school, he consulted with C-Level Executives at Fortune 1000 CEB member companies to learn more about business development. Today, he works with LinkedIn to help lawyers and business development professionals use their networks to sell better, and in turn create economic opportunities for themselves and others.
