Christopher D. Pineda

Chris Pineda is an experienced Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas. He represents the United States in federal court in various civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he worked at a civil litigation law firm in South Texas, where he represented cities and counties in state and federal court. Pineda received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin (2001), an M.P.P. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (2005), and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law (2009). 

The first lawyer in his family, Pineda is active in various local, state, and national organizations. He is a current board member of the State Bar of Texas Hispanic Issues Section and a member of the State Bar of Texas Law Focused Education Committee. He is a past president of the Cameron County Bar Association and a past Brownsville Division Director of the Federal Bar Association South Texas chapter.
