Christian Smith is the technical manager at MIT Sociotechnical Systems Research Center (SSRC) and the founder of Anvil Research. He is a technical founder with visionary tendencies and a pragmatic streak that comes from experience. He believes critical infrastructure must be free and open source, and that such software also has commercial value. As a freelance programmer and consultant, he’s worked across many different fields, from tiny bootstrapped startups to large banks, insurance companies and scientific research organizations.
