Brian A. Hall

Brian A. Hall is the managing partner of Hall Law in Austin, part of Traverse Legal, PLC, and the founder of TraverseGC, a subscription-based General Counsel service for companies. With a focus on Intellectual Property and Internet Law, Brian represents technology companies, startups, and brand owners globally. He offers extensive expertise in advising on intellectual property acquisition, enforcement, licensing, and multimillion-dollar corporate transactions. Brian serves as outside general counsel to private and public companies, venture capital funds, and Notley Ventures, a social impact company. He also provides legal guidance to the CPG accelerator, SKU. Recognized as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property, Brian holds the highest peer rating of AV Preeminent.

Beyond his legal practice, Brian litigates cases nationwide on trademark, domain name, copyright, software trade secret, online defamation, and privacy/personal rights matters. His diverse background as an IT Consultant at Accenture enriches his legal insights, which he shares through speaking engagements, authorship, and commentary on legal topics relevant to technology companies. Brian actively participates in the startup ecosystem as an Entrepreneur in Residence at The University of Texas at Austin. He is a limited partner in StartupRunner and an angel investor with CTAN. Brian contributes as a mentor and holds positions on the boards of EO Austin, PeopleFund, and the Global Entrepreneurial Bar Association. He has held leadership roles at the Michigan State University College of Law AA Board of Directors and supports community organizations like the United Way.
