Anthony DeRiso focuses his practice on tax controversies, tax litigation, and criminal tax matters before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He also has experience in transactional tax matters.
Anthony has represented individuals, corporate clients, trusts, estates, and exempt organizations. His experience includes handling IRS exams and administrative appeals, as well as filing pleadings, briefs, and motions with the Tax Court and with U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeal. Anthony has advised on complex tax matters, including on issues involving partnership adjustments, conservation easements, charitable contributions, criminal tax evasion, the section 965 transition tax, qualification as a tax exempt entity, and requests for penalty abatement and voluntary disclosures.
