Anna Gjika

Anna Gjika, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at SUNY New Paltz. She specializes in criminology and currently holds the position of Interim Director of the Criminology Concentration. Her academic pursuits focus on the intersection of gender, crime, youth, and technology, particularly addressing gendered violence and the responses of institutions. Her research contributions have been featured in reputable publications such as Crime, Media, Culture and the International Journal for Crime, Justice, and Social Democracy. Dr. Gjika’s most recent book is “When Rape Goes Viral: Youth and Sexual Assault in the Digital Age”.
