Alecia M. Chandler joined the State Bar of Michigan in December, 2014, as Professional Standards Assistant Counsel, became Assistant Division Director in 2018, and Professional Responsibility Programs Director in 2020. In this position she manages the Client Protection Fund and State Bar of Michigan Ethics programs, including providing education, information, support, and guidance in the area of ethics to attorneys throughout the State of Michigan primarily through answering the Bar’s ethics helpline. She also manages the Client Protection Fund.
Prior to joining the Bar in 2014, Alecia was an associate attorney with Anderson, Stull & Associates, focusing her practice on general civil matters including business, real estate, probate, and family law. She completed both the civil and domestic mediation training and volunteers her time as a mediator with Resolution Services Center of Central Michigan. Alecia received her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in 2000 and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, magna cum laude, in 2003.
Alecia is currently the President of the National Client Protection Organization, Chair of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Public Protection in the Provision of Legal Services, and on the membership committee for the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
