Chris Newbold

Chris Newbold is COO of the ALPS Insurance Company, a leader in attorney malpractice insurance. He is a recognized nationally for his roles as a strategic planning facilitator to bar associations, bar foundations, and state regulators on insurance industry matters including mandatory malpractice insurance requirements and client disclosure rules.

His credentials as a lawyer, his experience, and his knowledge of legal industry trends make him one of the most sought-after facilitators of legal conversations nationally. 

Newbold is also a leader in the effort to ensure well-being in the legal profession. He has served as President of the Institute for Well-Being in Law, an organization he helped found in 2020. He was a co-author of the movement-launching report “The Path to Lawyer Well-Being: Practical Recommendations for Positive Change.” And he served on the ABA’s working group to advance well-being in the legal profession.

Newbold earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his JD from the University of Montana School of Law.
