After eight years behind the mic and 87 episodes published, Vicki Voisin announced her retirement as host of the Paralegal Voice on August 2nd, 2017. We at Legal Talk Network knew she couldn’t be with us forever, so we begrudgingly accepted that she was leaving. Along with many others, we will miss Vicki and her dedication to the paralegal profession.
During her tenure as host, the Paralegal Voice featured thought provoking conversations, career changing advice, and high caliber guests. Among the most well-known were Erin Brockovich (yes that Erin Brockovich), New York Times bestselling author Gary Kinder, and L. Lin Wood who represented the Ramsey family, Richard Jewell, and Gary Conduit. In addition, she’s had presidents from the National Association of Legal Assistants (Linda Wolf, Karen McGee, Ann Atkinson, Kelly LaGrave, and Cassandra Oliver) and NALS (Patricia Infanti and Karen McKelroy) on the air. She’s even invited a few Legal Talk Network hosts to be guests including Sam Glover from the Lawyerist, Charles Volkert from the Robert Half Legal Report, Jared Correia from the Legal Toolkit, Tom Mighell from the Kennedy Mighell Report, and CEO Adam Camras!
Those who know Vicki, can affirm how much she cares about the legal profession and how hard she’s worked to bring valuable information to her listeners as well as her readers on the Paralegal Mentor Blog. On the podcast, she regularly called upon her 32+ years of experience as a paralegal, author, speaker, and leader (former president of NALA). Her work has reached and helped countless people in the profession across the country. This was never so on display as when we attended the NALA Annual Convention in 2015. The warmth, laughter, and comradery that surrounded Vicki inspired everyone she encountered.
It is with bittersweet sentiments that we say goodbye to Vicki as she steps away. On a personal note, it has been incredible to work with her. She’s extremely hardworking, patient, and passionate about what she does. It has been a privilege to be her producer. True to form, in a last generous act as host, Vicki helped us pick her successor Carl Morrison who is featured in her last episode below.
Vicki we will miss you. Thank you for building the trust and setting a high bar. As we carry on with the show you helped create, we will do our best to maintain the standard you set for the podcast. Good luck with everything and we can’t wait to have you on as a guest!
