Christina Hough is a nationally recognized, award-winning independent legal consultant and notary public with more than 22 years of experience in the legal field. She currently serves as Vice President of Membership for the San Diego Paralegal Association (“SDPA”) and as an Ex-Oficio member on the Federal Bar Association’s Law Student Division Board; and serves in various capacities on other boards and committees.
In 2023, she was selected as Notary of the Year by the National Notary Association for her volunteer work with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and her willingness to travel to rural Indian reservations where notary availability is very limited. She also received the Affiliates Award from the National Association of Legal Assistants – The Paralegal Association for her work on SDPA’s 2022 inaugural Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Educational Conference; and has been recognized as a Woman of Influence in Law by the San Diego Business Journal.
She has published articles discussing continuing legal education opportunities, legal technology, workplace productivity, and human-interest stories on LinkedIn and for SDPA’s newsletter, Precedents. Previously, she was a music journalist for a Los Angeles-based music magazine.
Christina earned her B.A. in Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating summa cum laude and as a Distinguished Scholar with a 4.0 GPA. She received her paralegal certificate with honors in Generalist Curriculum from the University of San Diego Paralegal Program – the very first paralegal program in the U.S. to receive American Bar Association approval; and plans to continue her graduate education.
We all act, think, and process the world differently. It’s called “neurodivergence,” and understanding it is vital in the legal profession.
