Shaun Jardine is the managing director of the legal business consulting firm Big Yellow Penguin and an unapologetic legal price model disruptor. He is the author of the book “Ditch The Billable Hour! Implementing Value-Based Pricing in a Law Firm.” As a former commercial director and CEO of a large law firm, he has seen how the traditional model of time-based pricing – the billable hour – is fading. Why is a lawyer gauging value by a clock instead of results, he asks.
Jardine aims to help professional service firms make more money and build customer satisfaction by changing the way they price their services, ditching the hourly rate and embracing value-based pricing. He helps lawyers and firms move away from the artificial ceiling that firms place on their revenue by merely multiplying hourly rates by billable hours and instead increase revenue with pricing that reflects the value delivered to their clients.
Jardine is a frequent speaker and a certified commercial mediator and solicitor. He earned undergraduate and legal degrees from Britain’s Henley Business School, The University of Law, Coventry University, and Wimbledon College.
