Catherine (Cathy) Tanaka Surbeck of the Philadelphia firm Surbeck Law has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of Workers’ Compensation litigation and mediation including appearing before Workers’ Compensation judges, the Workers’ Compensation appeal board, and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. She focuses on injuries covered under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Act and the Defense Base Act. She has conducted depositions of medical experts as well as fact witnesses and vocational experts. She is the incoming president of the Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). Surbeck earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington and her JD at the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
