George L. Fitzsimmons is a self-employed as an Arbitrator, Special Master and Mediator since 1999. Prior to that time he worked more than twenty years in the defense of civil litigation matters before working eleven years on complex plaintiff’s civil litigation.
George has arbitrated more than 200 commercial, labor, and construction litigation matters. He has mediated more than 500 civil disputes. He has also served as a court appointed Special Master on class action, mass tort, and toxic tort cases. He was recently honored by being inducted into the National Academy of Arbitrators and the Academy of Court Appointed Masters.
George has been honored as the 1981 recipient of the Lon O. Hocker Trial Lawyer Award by the Missouri Bar. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He has served as Chairman of the Trial Section of the St. Louis Bar Association and President of The Lawyers Association of St. Louis. He is an adjunct professor at Washington University Law School.
