Cassandra Michel joined the California Bar in June 2020 and opened her solo family law practice, Aloha Divorce. Before becoming an attorney, Michel geared her career toward family law, working more than four years at private family law firms throughout Southern California.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and earned her juris doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
In law school, Michel volunteered for the Family Law Self Help Clinic in San Diego where she provided pro-bono legal assistance to low-income clients on family law issues such as marriage, domestic violence, divorce, and child custody.
Michel is a member of the Sacramento Bar and continues to practice pro bono for non-profits. She also serves on the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Board and enjoys exploring other countries and spending time with her crazy but adorable Siberian husky. She spent the summer of 2017 in Nice, France, studying international constitutional law under Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
As an effective and even-tempered negotiator, she seeks creative solutions and helps opposing parties consider all options before escalating issues to trial.
Straight out of law school, Michel weighed her options and decided solo practice best fit her lifestyle and goals. She built a detailed business plan, established her brand, and went to work serving clients.
Cassandra Michel discusses the many challenges and decisions she made in her first year as a new solo.
