Kenda Culpepper is the Rockwall County criminal district attorney and was the first woman to take office as a district attorney in the history of North Texas. She is the president-elect of the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association and has chaired both the State Bar of Texas Criminal Justice Section and the State Bar of Texas Professionalism Committee. Culpepper also serves as the president of the board of directors of the Rockwall County Children’s Advocacy Center. In 2015, she was honored to be part of the team of lawyers and investigators that won the Lone Star Award presented by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association for their work in the capital murder conviction of a former justice of the peace who killed the Kaufman County
District Attorney, and in 2017, the State Bar of Texas presented her with the Standing Ovation Award.
