Albert Camacho Jr.

Albert Camacho Jr. has been an attorney with the Los Angeles County Office of the Public Defender since 1994. He has extensive trial and appellate court experience, and is currently assigned to the Immigration Unit, where he advises fellow attorneys on the immigration consequences of proposed criminal plea bargains and provides in-house training in this complex area of criminal law.

He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Criminal Law Section since 2014, and currently serves as its chair. In addition to “paying it forward” through his involvement with the CLA, he co-coaches a high school mock trial team at Animo Pat Brown Charter High School in south Los Angeles, and serves on the advisory board of the Los Angeles School of Global Studies.

Mr. Camacho is a graduate of the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. He is also a graduate of California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He resides in Alhambra with Dolores, his wife of nearly 20 years, and their three cats: Hocus, Pocus, and Jo.
