Latanishia Watters

Latanishia Watters has developed a commercial litigation practice across a spectrum of focused practice areas including tort and insurance defense, fraud and bad faith litigation, business contract litigation, financial services litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and other business-to-business disputes. She represents insureds, insurers, financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees, creditors, and other business entities. Ms. Watters is a graduate of the Leadership Birmingham Class of 2010. In recognition of her professional achievements and community service, in 2011, Ms. Watters was selected by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of Birmingham’s “Top 40 Under 40” business leaders. Locally, Ms. Watters has held a variety of professional leadership positions, including service as President of the Magic City Bar Association, Chair of the Birmingham Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee, and member of the BBA Women Lawyers Section Executive Board. On a national level, Ms. Watters was elected as the Assembly Speaker and Chief Legislative Officer for the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association; appointed as the Division’s Assistant Diversity Director; and served as the Division’s Alabama/Georgia District Representative where she was responsible for coordinating disaster legal services in partnership with FEMA. In addition, Ms. Watters was appointed Vice Chair of the Staff Counsel Committee of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS), and named to the TIPS Standing Committee on Diversity in the Profession, among her many national leadership positions.
