Attorney Stephen P. Halbrook is senior fellow at the Independent Institute and the author of the acclaimed books, The Founders’ Second Amendment, Gun Control in the Third Reich, and the forthcoming, Gun Control in Nazi-Occupied France which will be published in June 2018. He is an attorney with extensive knowledge of the historical underpinnings of the Second Amendment and practical knowledge of litigating in this rapidly evolving area of law. He has taught legal and political philosophy at George Mason University, Howard University, and Tuskegee Institute, and he received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and Ph.D. in social philosophy from Florida State University.
