Paul Harris, a San Francisco lawyer who represented Huey Newton, Leonard McNeil and some other left wing figures. After graduating UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall, Paul Harris clerked for a federal judge. He then co-founded the San Francisco Community Law Collective which was a multi-racial law office and had a policy of equal salaries and decision-making among lawyers and secretaries. The Collective won national recognition and community service awards from the SF Board of Supervisors and the Centro Legal. Paul is listed in three editions of Best Lawyers in America. He is a former National President of the Lawyers Guild and is the author of the critically acclaimed book Black Rage Confronts the Law.
