NALA Affiliated Associations Part 2

The National Association for Legal Assistants (NALA) recently held their 40th Annual Convention, Institutes, and Exhibition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While at the conference, The Paralegal Voice host Vicki Voisin interviewed Andi Elmore from the Kansas Association of Legal Assistants and Paralegals (KALA), Tove Sebring from the Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA), and June Brown from the Tulsa Area Paralegal Association (TAPA) about being members of paralegal associations affiliated with NALA. Together they discuss benefits including networking opportunities, leadership communication and education, and certification opportunities.

Andi Elmore serves as second vice president of the KALA where she is responsible for the monthly CLE from September to May. She is also an adjunct professor for Newman University, one of the few Kansas universities that offers a paralegal program.

Tove Sebring is president of the Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA) where she oversees board members and promotes certification. Tove is a litigation paralegal at Zinda & Davis in Austin, Texas.

June Brown serves as secretary to the board of trustees at the University of Tulsa where she ensures the board efficiently works with outside legal departments. She is the president of TAPA.
