Overview

Legal Talk Network has 25 active podcasts, all with a legal audience. We produce shows for clients, provide podcasting consulting, own several of our own shows, and have a few shows that others produce and we distribute them as syndicators. We will occasionally attend conferences for clients as well.

This role is central to reporting out listenership performance of shows to our production clients, and ad performance to our sponsors, as well as creating sales messaging to attract new production and sponsor clients.

Monthly Work:

  • Dashboard Metrics capture (1st week of each month)
    • Megaphone for podcast downloads, impressions and episode counts for network and per show.
    • Apple Podcasts for per show hours of content consumed and subscribers
    • Spotify for Creators for per show hours of content consumed and subscribers
    • YouTube (3 channels at the moment) for content consumed and video/short post counts.
    • Social: Follower, post count and engagement metrics for LTN’s LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, BlueSky, TikTok and social channels to be added.
    • Financial: Director will share the data as provided from Finance.
    • Long-term: look for ways to streamline this process, gather reports automatically, and develop systems for the report format to call the data (evolve from data entry)

  • Podcast Performance database (by 10th of each month)
    • Capture downloads, episode count, top 10 episodes this month, hours of content consumed, and subscribers for each show
    • Audit or review with Director
    • Send out recap to select clients, cc: Director

  • Sponsor Performance database (by 10th of each month)
    • From Megaphone, capture Ad Order impressions per month
      • Analytics > Impressions > Report by Show
      • Analytics > Impressions >Report by Creative
    • As needed include:
      • email performance (Mailchimp)
      • banner performance (Google Analytics)

  • Assist with expense management (between 25-30th each month)
    • Gather known, especially monthly recurring receipts
    • Load into Expensify, add descriptions as available
    • Director will check, clarify any expenses and submit monthly.

Weekly or On-Going Work:

  • Draft email sequences in HubSpot to prospect segments for Director’s edit, send and monitor performance for subsequent improvements.
  • Mine the current HubSpot database for prospects, and write+set up email sequences to continue to engage production and sponsor contacts.
  • Keep up on the Director’s sales meetings: follow-up when we say we will and provide scheduling and proposals or follow-up information to prospects.
  • Collect and add media buying agency contacts to our HubSpot database to expand our sponsorship opportunities. Current list of agencies is here.
  • Collect and add Bar Association prospects, send out email sequences to these associations to attract business to produce podcasts and/or develop a network of legal associations using our podcast player. See LTN’s Content Category Player.

Ad hoc/As Needed:

  • Support to keep the Agency Media Kit and Ratecard updated.
  • Support gathering social media and YouTube samples for end-of-contract-year client reporting.
  • Support Marketing Specialist on overflow of marketing materials creation (images, audiograms, short videos, captioning, posting, tracking, etc.).
  • Support Marketing Specialist by responding to followers/audience comments with timely engagement responses in key social media channels including Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and BlueSky.
  • Support Operations Specialist on gathering transcripts and posting them into episode pages we’ve published this week.
  • Check status of completion of Team Top5 project progress
  • Cross-train to load ads and promos in Megaphone.
