Renee Thompson

Renee Thompson is a mediator at Upchurch Watson White & Max. Renee was most recently a Partner at Mateer & Harbert, P.A. practicing in their Ocala office as a civil litigator handling commercial litigation and equine law matters. She is an honors graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was chosen as an Outstanding Young Alumnus in 2012.

Renee currently serves as the Fifth Circuit Representative on The Florida Bar Board of Governors and as the Chair of The Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy Committee. She is a member of the Bar’s Executive Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, Vision 2016 Commission Technology Committee, Special Tools, Resources and Technology Committee, and serves as Vice Chair of the Communications and Annual Convention Committees of The Florida Bar. She previously served as President of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division from 2010-2011, and was the recipient of the YLD Board of Governor’s Most Productive Board Member Award in 2008. Renee currently serves as the President of the Marion County Bar and as the Chair of the U.S. Middle District Grievance Committee for the Ocala Division.

Renee has been recognized as a Florida Association of Women Lawyers Leader in the Law, Florida Super Lawyer and Rising Star, Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite Up and Comer, and as one of Ocala Magazine’s ‘Forty Under Forty.’
